Our mission is to bring together the voices of young people and adults to address disaffection and underachievement in education and the community
About COVO
COVO is a local charity with a national reach, based in the London borough of Southwark since 1999.
We run creative interventions for excluded children and young people at risk of NEET who find it difficult to engage in mainstream education.
The charity works holistically, training schools and CSS organisations in reflective and child-centred practices that support young people to engage in their learning and fulfil their potential. We train and mentor staff to sustain these practices in the long-term.
COVO provides tailored programmes for struggling parents and families to support their children’s social, emotional and academic development.
Currently our focus is:
- working with excluded young people in pupil referral units / CSS
- supporting young people with emerging mental health issues
- supporting children and young people into and through secondary education
- working with disadvantaged parents
